Design of the 590 MeV proton beamline for the proposed TATTOOS isotope production target at PSI

Abstract IMPACT (Isotope and Muon Production with Advanced Cyclotron Target Technologies) is a proposed initiative envisaged for the high-intensity proton accelerator facility (HIPA) at Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). As part of IMPACT, radioisotope target station, TATTOOS (Targeted Alpha Tumour Therapy Other Oncological Solutions) will allow production terbium radionuclides therapeutic diagnostic purposes. The beamline be located near UCN (Ultra Cold Neutron source) area, branching off from main beamline. In particular, intended to operate beam intensity 100 μA, requiring continuous splitting via an electrostatic splitter. Realistic loss simulations verify safe operation have been performed optimised using Beam Delivery Simulation (BDSIM), Geant4 based tool enabling simulation transportation through magnets particle passage accelerator. this study, profiles, transmission power deposits are generated studied.
